Change is in the Winds...

Another HUGE couple weeks! With lots of changes taking place and being planned...
Han finished her Monday, the 13th, on Glee and it was a HILARIOUS day on set, wish she could say more!

Tuesday the 14th Luce had a later call time to work on Parenthood, so we went to Aroma for coffee with Sully in the morning and hung at her place afterwards until Luce had to head out. Sully and Han went to the mall, going on a Clinique makeup spree and window shopping/lusting after aaaall the beautiful dresses Han's heart could desire. Han hung out at Sully's for the rest of the evening until Luce got back from her day on set! They were filming on Wisteria Lane (as in Desperate Housewives!!) and Luce stood right next to Ray Romano!

On Wednesday Han was on a show that she's not allowed to say anything about buuuut it was one of her favourite days EVER on set! It was a period show, 1940's, and after 3 hours of wardrobe, hair, and makeup, Han felt like a million bucks!
It was a 16+ hour day on set and Han truly enjoyed every minute, can't wait to share more when the show airs!!!
Luce and Sully spent the afternoon hanging out, waiting for Han to get back from set. The three of us had planned to go to Vaucluse that night but Han was so wrecked when she got home that we bailed, another time!

On Thursday we headed out to Mum and Q's again to spend time with mum on her birthday the next day and see all the friends and fam flying in for the party on Saturday night! We stopped at Disneyland to get Mum's pressie - a caricature drawing of Mum, Q, Chewy, Fudge, and the two of us as disney characters. It turned out perfectly, we were sooo happy with it! Then we were out to Corona to spend the evening with Brendan, Sharon, Dane, Wayne, Mum, and Q (and Niell and Wendy later on). It was SO lovely to see everyone and, even though we weren't invited to stay for the festivities over the next couple days, we were so glad we made the effort to come out! That Thursday night also marked the start of some of the changes in the winds, we've been looking at our futures and trying to decide whether they're here in LA pursuing acting or elsewhere following other passions and dreams. We don't want to announce anything until we're 100% sure of our plans, but we had an enlightening, challenging, somewhat overwhelming, but much needed "tough love" talk with Brendan that's really lit a fire under us to take our lives by the horns and live up to our potential. Thanks Brendie!!
The next morning we gave Mum her present, which she loved, YAY! Then helped with brekkie before our stay was up and we left around 10:30. We had a chill day, totally zonked from a big week and future plan overload, then Sully, Luke, and Greg came over that night to hang out!

On Saturday, Han worked out and babysat for her lovely (favourite, shhh) family, the Steinbergs, who were having a BBQ with 20+ kiddos there! Woah!! It was super fun and afterwards all the stragglers walked a few blocks over to this amazingly decorated Halloween house called "Bony Island". They had an incredible treehouse and their house and yard were completely decked out!
It was a lovely way to finish the party and after that Han was on to the next thing - the two of us finally made it to Vaucluse! After a crazy effort to find a parking space and confusion about whether or not we'd even be allowed in, we got there!
We had a lovely evening, a cute guy even bought Luce a drink, but after a while the vibe got a little dead sooo we went to Roscoe's for waffles and sweet potato pie for dessert! Perfection.

On Sunday we had a huge and suuuuper fun day at Six Flags with Sully, Luke, and Greg!
The park was really quiet so We. Went. On. EVERYTHING! It was crazyyy! We also did it all in the most inefficient way so we walked for miles! We had a ball though - a couple of the roller coasters were INSANE! This one, X-2, was the most mind-boggling experience of our lives!
There was also another one that was a standing roller coaster and Han had the great idea to tiptoe when it locked in to let her feet dangle. Luce and Sully followed along and we were all feeling very clever until they locked into place aaaand we realized that all we were supported by were our lady parts on the bicycle seats, gaahh! It was a long ride. After two minutes of pounding G-forces and rare moments of relief on loops, we came off seriously worried for our reproductive capabilities. Great idea Han..! The last ride of the night was our fave. It had just gotten dark and this particular ride had an amazing view. There was one moment, where we were suspended upside down looking out over the millions of lights of Los Angeles, in which it felt like time really stopped for half a second. So breathtaking! By 7:15, our feet were sore, our adrenaline was spent, and our bodies were more than sufficiently coaster-addled: mission completed. We decided to head out, also because their Halloween event started at 7:00, we wanted to get outta there before things got too terrifying! We missed our chance. The walk to the exit was one of the most harrowing experiences of our lives..! Monsters everywhere, preying on the weak (us), and completely unrelenting - we were honestly, no joke, petrified. Aaaand we're planning on going the the Halloween event at Universal next week..! Ahhh! It was an awesome day though at Six Flags, we really had such a ball!

Monday was another special day because... Sully moved in to our apartment!!! YAAYY! She's staying with us for most of November before moving back to Michigan then on to New York! So exciting! We cleaned the place from top to bottom in the morning, Sully came over with boxes and suitcases in hand around 12:00, and we went out for a celebratory Dim Sum lunch at 12:30! So fun! That evening we went to a screenwriting/acting workshop that Tim, Dad's old colleague, invited us to. It was really good and we got to hear Tim's screenplay read and he's actually very talented! Which was a relief haha certainly the best writer there and a very funny premise to his story! We went to Milk just around the corner for dessert and headed home for our first night as roomies!

On Tuesday Luce and Sully hung out and baked pumpkin spiced muffins and got keys cut for Sully - woohoo! Tuesday, as well as Wednesday and Thursday, Han worked on A to Z, and on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Luce worked on a Prom scene on Cougar Town with Courtney Cox. They were all long, fun, uneventful days on set, except Wednesday for Han was super short so she and Sully went to Nordstrom to pick up a dress Sullivan had altered, grabbed coffee at an Aussie cafe called Coffee + Food, and went grocery shopping to make spinach, feta, and bacon stuffed chicken which was toootally delish!

On Friday Han had a really short day on New Girl and spent the afternoon hangin out an napping like a champ.

Saturday was a monumental effort!! Wow! Han woke up early and worked out, then went to Ralph's for the ingredients we needed to bake up a storm! Meanwhile, Luce prepped the kitchen and mentally prepared herself. We were making dessert for Mum's second birthday party with her childhood friend Robin who also just turned 50. On the menu: chocolate cake with a hint of coffee flavour and creme brûlée cupcakes complete with caramelized sugar topping! We were also helping out at Hudson's (another boy Han babysits) birthday party that afternoon so Luce baked a batch of double chocolate chip cookies to take with. Luce baked for 4 HOURS STRAIGHT! Whatta champ! She made the cakes, they went in the oven, while they were baking she made the cupcakes, the cupcakes went into the oven and the cakes came out, while the cakes cooked she made the cookie dough, the first batch of cupcakes came out and the second went in along with the first batch of cookies, while they cooked Han quick cleaned everything in preparation for the second wave of attack, everything came out of the oven and the second batch of cookies went in, Luce, with Han's help, made the pastry cream topping for the cupcakes (which tasted AMAZING!! Ohmygoshh) and then the last batch of cookies came outta the oven, finally, Luce made the icing for the cake and it was 1:18 and time to fly out the door to Hudson's party! Crazy!! Luce was suuuch a baking legend!
The party was really fun! We watched the kiddos, Luce face-painted, Han was designated swing pusher and shirley temple maker, and we got to eat a couple of the most delicious sandwiches ever!
Job done, we headed out at 5:30, cash money in haaaand! Nice! We went straight home, had the quickest turnaround we could, grabbed the baked goods, and headed out to Mum and Q's (yet again, déjà vu!) for party #2.
The traffic gods did not act in our favour and we got there pretty late to the party which was suuuch a bummer! Grandma's dinner was absolutely delish though and the cake and cupcakes were a total hit! We all had a lovely time celebrating 50 special years!
It was a super short visit because we all headed into LA Sunday to go to Mosaic together! Also, perhaps even more momentous, was Grandma's first boba tea! Haha it was a lovely sermon, Erwin was speaking, and we were so glad we got to share our church with G'ma and G'pa.

The last two days have been pretty cruisey; Han's been on A to Z and today Luce is on Castle. We're thinking these might be some of the last days of extra work that we do though, so we can focus more on enjoying the city, spending time with Sully before she leaves, and getting our futures on track! It's been a great couple weeks and things are only gonna get better!

Workaholics: The Sequel

It's been a HUGE couple weeks! We've been so flat out working that we've barely had time for anything else - although we did manage to fit in a little relaxation and treat ourselves to some yummy food. Here's the rundown of the shows we've worked:

Monday 15/9
Han worked on an Amazon show called Bosch and Luce took the day off. That night we got a tip off that Leonardo DiCaprio was going to be at a club out friend promotes for! So exciting!!! We decided to spend a night out on the town in hopes of spotting the gorgeous celeb (and having him fall in love with one of us, obviously..)
We had a fun time but, alas, no Leo! So sad.
Also, Han got some killerrrrr blisters that really just made it a night to remember every time she put on shoes for the next week.
Watch out though, Leo's gonna be fallin in love with one of us soon..

Tuesday 16/9
Han was booked as a Cheerio on Glee! SO EXCITING!! She had an awesome day strutting the halls of William McKinley High School.
(Olivia and Han's attempt at a love heart. Almost...)
Luce worked on a funny new show called Fresh off the Boat and spent the WHOLE DAY OUTSIDE. Rough stuff considering it was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit!

Wednesday 17/9
Han worked on A to Z again for their Halloween episode! The costumers gave her a, uhh, very interesting interpretation of Sherlock Holmes for her costume.
Yikes! It wasn't the most comfortable outfit but it was pretty hilarious so she tried to make the most of it - and she got a little featured bit in the shot! For better or for worse...
Luce was working on Fresh off the Boat again and it was another hot but fun day on set.

Thursday 18/9
Han was on A to Z again as "sexy Sherlock Holmes" and Luce was back on Fresh off the Boat for her last day.

Friday 19/9
Han had her last day on A to Z and Luce worked a show called Battle Creek with the gorgeous Josh Duhamel! She got an awesome featured bit where she had to "pretend" to check him out haha not much acting required there! The director seemed really impressed and said "thank you" afterwards and Josh (in the scene) said "hi" to Luce! SO cool, he was beyond attractive in real life and it was such a great night on set!

On Saturday morning we went to a 24 hour diner downtown that we've been totally hanging out to try! It hasn't closed since 1924!! THERE AREN'T EVEN LOCKS ON THE DOOR! How cool is that?! We got French toast (to die for) potatoes and sausage, YUM!
After that Han had an audition downtown for a really cool project! It went really well and she got asked in for a callback but the dates line up badly around Christmas so she had to respectfully decline. It was still totally worth it though and it felt great to be back in the game!
After the audition we headed out to mum and Q's for the rest of the weekend!
We had a lovely, Saturday and Sunday - the highlights including working on our tans, brekkie at another adorable diner, playing with the puppies, and a girls' movie afternoon to see This is Where I Leave You. (The movie was okay but Adam Driver was AMAZING! Officially one of our favourite actors!) We ate yummy food cooked to perfection by Q and left on Monday morning feeling rejuvenated.
Monday ended up being another relaxing day, Luce did some errands and Han babysat for another really lovely family! The next day we were back to work!

Tuesday 23/9
Han was on A to Z again, back in normal clothes this time, and Luce was on a medical reenactment show called Sex Sent Me to the ER, hilarious.

Wednesday 24/9
We were booked together on Faking It. We were booked as audience members for a high school beauty pageant but when we got there it turned out that one of the pageant girls was sick so they needed a replacement! We both went back to the wardrobe lady as options and she took one look at Lucy's boobs and said "there's no way we'll be able to squeeze those boobs into the dress". Eeeek! Bit of a bummer for Luce but there was absolutely nothing she could do about it, so Han soldiered on alone.
After an hour and a half of hair and makeup, Han officially looked like she was from Texas!
The southern versions of Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana - hilarious!
Luce was feeling a little ordinary, but I think we all know who would've won the pageant if her boobs were smaller...
"She's beauty and she's grace"
It was a fun day nonetheless and we were glad we got booked together!

Thursday 25/9
Luce was on a nickelodeon show called Henry Danger and Han was back on Glee, fun!

Friday 26/9
Booked together again, woo! We had a nice short day with a late call time working on The Fosters.

Finally it was the weekend again! YAAYY! We were so zonked out that we pretty much just slept, binge watched So You Think You Can Dance, and hung out with Sully. Exactly what we needed!

On Monday we were back at it! We spent the whole morning cleaning then Han had an audition in the afternoon (which went really well! YAY!) and babysat the same little boy, Hudson, from last week. Sully came over again that night and we hung out and played cards, love her to pieces!

Yesterday we were back at work on The Fosters. It was a really early call time in San Pedro, nearly an hour away!! Suuuch a struggle! We set alarms for 4:30, 4:45, and Luce set a backup alarm for 5:15 as a ten minute warning for when we had to leave. The first thing either of us recall is Luce waking up to her 5:15 alarm! OH NO! We flew outta bed and, by some miracle, managed to get ready in 15 minutes!! WOW! We made it to the address with time to spare, parked in the wrong place - literally the edge of the US, we couldn't have gone any further to the southwest - and walked a while before finally finding base camp and checking in! Go us! It was a gloriously short day and we were wrapped at 11:30!! Yeee!
We stopped for boba and were home and back in bed before 1:00. Success.
Post-nap we took it easy and Luce cooked up a storm for dinner, delicious fried rice!

Today we both took the day off to surprise Grandma and Grandpa at the airport when they arrived this morning! SO amazing to have them here, we can't wait to spend some quality time with them!! We stopped at Dunkin Donuts in Santa Monica on our way back to NoHo for a yummy lunch with Sully! We're doing burgers on the grill and she's making her grandma's rice pudding, can't wait! Han's babysitting again tonight and we both got booked on Faking It again tomorrow! What a crazy/awesome/fun/exciting few weeks!!

La La Land with Papa!

We had the most wonderful week with our Dad! Exactly what we needed to clear our heads a little and escape from the madness of LA - even though we were still in LA.
Dad arrived Saturday morning, so we woke up early and got everything ready, then went out to the airport to pick him up!
We got there right on time but ended up waiting a while because a HUGE flight had just gotten in from Korea. Getting excited every time a man would round the corner only to have it not be dad has, rather unfortunately, conditioned us to be disappointed when we see Asians (just kidding! Haha we're seeing someone about it). But then finally Dad was here YAAYY!!! We each got a massive and long overdue hug from papa and headed back to show him our flat!
We hung out and caught up for a while, ready to bunk close quarters in our lovely little place, then went out for a Shakespeare show in Topanga Canyon at the Theatricum Botanicum.
We saw Much Ado About Nothing and it was soooo funny! It's one of our faves but we've never seen it brought to life and they did a really good job! Beatrice and Benedick stole the show and had us laughing out loud, very well done!
After the show we went to a lovely Italian restaurant for dinner and it was so yummy, such a great first day!

Sunday was Aussie Father's Day so we planned an action packed day of activities and food that we'd all love. First off, we made a big cooked brekkie of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, toast, and hash browns, in true Father's Day style, to keep us going. Then we headed to the Getty Villa in Malibu to have a look around the beautiful museum overlooking the ocean.
Once we'd soaked up all the culture we could for one day, we headed to the beach! Woo! The weather was perfect and the waves were HUGE!
Dad and Han went out to swim/jump waves/body surf and Han got absolutely destroyed by a few waves, total dumpers! After those underwater somersaults, nearly losing her togs, and half the ocean up her nose, Han called it a day in the water - so exhilarating! We hung out for a while, loving the vitamin D, then went to a little fish and chips place down the road for dinner. It was absolutely perfect, looking out over the ocean, eating some seriously delicious calamari and fish, and just catching up on life.
After dinner we went down to Malibu pier and had ice cream sandwiches for dessert and watched a surfing competition on the beach.
It was a wonderful Father's Day and we were so glad to be able to spend it with Dad!

On Monday we had a chill day. Luce and Dad slept in and Han worked out in the morning, then we walked down Laurel Canyon to have a sticky beak at a film that was going on! They'd turned the whole street into a derro, post-riot type set and it was really convincing!
We've never seen a location set so distressed and altered, very cool!
After that we went to the Americana at Brand to do some shopping! We bought Eddie a birthday present and Dad found some really nice stuff, then we had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
We had a quiet evening in, the two of us cooked a curry for dinner and then we all played cards for a couple hours, lovely!

On Tuesday we went to LACMA for some more culture and it was such a cool museum!
Then we had a yummy, organic lunch at Urth Caffe.
We spent the evening going to Amoeba Records then to the Arclight cinema in Hollywood to watch Guardians of the Galaxy - and it was SUCH A GOOD MOVIE! Hilarious, unexpected, badass, we highly recommend it. We took Dad to Cactus for authentic Mexican food for dinner then headed home and played another round of cards.

On Wednesday we had our big day trip - out to Catalina Island! The weather was incredible and it was such a relaxing day in paradise.
All too soon we were back in hectic LA but it was a wonderful day of beaches, shopping, food, and fun!

On Thursday we hung by the pool in our apartment in the morning then met up for lunch with an old colleague of Dad's who's living and working in LA. We had a great chat and got to walk around one of the studio lots where he works - they filmed True Blood there! After lunch we went over to Bronzed Aussie to say hi to Samantha and show Dad where we work, which was really lovely, then we went and explored a bit downtown. We went into MOCA, the museum of contemporary art, and had a look around but it honestly all seemed a little self-indulgent and a bit of a stretch as art. Still kinda cool though! We didn't stay long anyway cos we had a dinner res to get to at a beautiful tapas-style restaurant in Hollywood called Eveleigh. It was AMAZING! One of the nicest restaurants we've been to in LA - a beautiful outdoor seating area, great waitstaff/service, and fantastic food and drinks.
The perfect combination of hipster-cool and inviting warmth. The perfect way to spend our last night!

Before we knew it, it was our last day together..! What?! Where'd the time go?? We packed so much into the week but the time flew by and we weren't ready to say goodbye! We still had one more day though and we made the most of it! The two of us had another Disney audition in the morning, this time for Tokyo disney, but it was honestly a bit of a fizzer cos they appeared to only be looking for Jasmine/Pocahontas look-alikes, sooo not us. Han also had to finish her script in the morning to submit it for a screenwriting competition we'd heard about, which was really exciting! She felt really satisfied to have it finished, even if it wasn't quite perfect. Gotta be in it to win it! After all that stuff was done, we went to Santa Monica for some more shopping, beach time, and food! We spent the afternoon on this awesome shopping street, 3rd street Promenade, and had a look around. Once we got to the end of the street we found a smoothie making food truck and got drinks to sip sitting in the shade overlooking the beach.
We had a light seafood dinner down on Santa Monica pier, then went back up to 3rd st for crepes for dessert! All too soon, it was time to take Dad to the airport. Noooo!!! The only thing that kept us from being teary messes was knowing that we'd see him and Claire and the kiddos in just a few short months! Already soooo excited! The week couldn't have been more perfect! We're feeling very rejuvenated and have a lot more clarity on some things we were unsure of about with the future, so that's great too. Nothing like a week with Dad to help us get some perspective and figure out our priorities, whatta lege!

We had a relaxed weekend and then we were straight back into a big work week this week - more details on that to come!

The Princess Diaries

It's been a super chill and very fun week - we've really felt like royalty in the making, all we have to do now is make it big or book one particular gig (read on) so we can really live like princesses!
Friday night was a lovely Frozen movie night with mum and Q and the neighbors! Saturday was very relaxing too. We swam in the pool, ate delicious BBQ, and watched The Quest (we're sooo hooked!) all day long!
On Sunday we woke up super early and headed back into LA to work at Bronzed Aussie for the first time in AGES! The reason was....... Sunrise (the Aussie version of Good Morning America) was filming a segment at the bakery!!! It was a super fun morning and we got to meet Kochie! (Mid-smile in this pic but ahh well)
That night we went out to a stand up comedy show with Sullivan, Luke, and Greg and it was actually really good! Then the five of us, joined by Gerald, hung out at Sully's for a super fun night in because of the long weekend!
On Monday we hung out by the pool all morning then came home and passed out for the longest nap ever! 4 and a half hours later we woke up and, all plans of barbecuing for ourselves out the window, we went to In-N-Out! Most. Amazing. Burgers. And. Shakes. EVER! Yum! Such a great long weekend!!
Honestly though, the weekend kind of continued, through no fault of our own, all week long..! We weren't booked for background Tuesday or Wednesday, so we spent our time cleaning and getting ready for Dad's visit! Han also kept working on her script which has been really fun! On Wednesday we also went out to the new Dunkin Donuts that's just opened in Santa Monica - the first one in LA! It was packed! So yummy and such a blast from the past!
We got dinner from a yummy Japanese place and went and ate down on the beach, so fun!
Yesterday was a little more exciting though!! We got glammed up and went out on a huge cattle call audition to be disney princesses on their cruise ships!
Han asked Sierra, who works as a disney princess in Disneyland, for some audition advice and it sounded really manageable! Just smile, say your name, look pretty, can do! We show up, Han wearing jeans and both wearing flats, and everyone was in full on dance gear! Gahh! Well, maybe they don't know what's going on..... Unfortunately not. It was TOTALLY DANCE BASED! Yoikes! We decided to just go with it and give it a go and it was actually really fun! On top of that, we BOTH made it through to the final round of cuts! Luce was picked as a lookalike and Han as a dancer/lookalike (we think, anyway). Out of about 75 people, Han was in the top 15 dancers and Luce was one of only 5 other girls picked as a lookalike! We were SO proud of ourselves - Luce especially because dancing is waaayy out of her comfort zone. We won't find out until November though if we're chosen because they have some more rounds of casting before then, so fingers crossed!
Today we got all the last things ready for Dad to arrive tomorrow! SO EXCITING!! And we spent the afternoon with Sully then saw Brian and Brittany tonight. It's been a lovely day and we cannot wait for Dad to arrive in the morning!!! WOO!
