Ahh! It's been almost a month! Wow, what a crazy few weeks - we have a LOT to catch up on!
Here are the highlights:
-- Han --
Alright, picking up where I left off in The COPA Games: it was down to the final 9 when I got back to campus... On Friday morning I knew I had to kill my target, Ellie, but I had no idea how I'd manage it! She was a dancer and I'd never spoken to her - I didn't even know what she looked like! I had two dancer friends in my first class on Monday, though, and asked them about her. They couldn't give me any leads but then as we were leaving class, with AMAZING luck, Carolyn turned to me and said "That was Ellie, she just walked right past you!" I turned around, ran back down the stairs, and loudly said her name - I figured the girl that turned around was her and I got her with my crayon! Wooo!! Then came a hitch; my new target was Chase. Ahh I reeeaally didn't want to kill him!! We'd made an alliance and on top of that he's one of my best friends. I decided to tell him and to agree not to get him - I'd play on the defensive and hopefully we'd make it to the final two!!
We were down to 6 just in time for me to get picked up by Mum and Q for the weekend!
-- Luce --
I honestly have absolutely NO idea what I was doing 3 weeks ago!! It was definitely a lot of schoolwork... aaaaannnddd working on finding my final scene with my wonderful friend Alisa! Most of my time was spent at school, studying, or sleeping..!
-- Han and Luce --
Friday night was our first night all together in the new house and it was just lovely! Mum cooked up a delicious roast dinner - much appreciated after eating cafeteria/college student food for a few months (although Luce is a very good cook). It was so fun to unpack (well, Han unpacked anyway) and just relax at home again, such a luxury!
Saturday was Q's birthday AND the perfect day to see the Christmas overlay in Disneyland for the first time EVER!!
We rode all the Christmassy rides, saw a couple shows, soaked in the magic, and had a delicious dinner at the Blue Bayou - the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! A perfect day, we felt so lucky that we got to celebrate Q's birthday all together!
Sunday was a lazy day. We weren't too bummed leaving because we knew we'd be back in just a couple days for Thanksgiving!
-- Han --
I can't really remember the chronology of everything, but at some point I was in two short films! It was really fun! It also gave me a good look at myself on camera, an idea of some things to repeat aaaand some things to fix. Anyway, when I got back to Chapman on Sunday it was down to the wire in The COPA Games with only two days to finish before Thanksgiving! Chelsea killed Jeffrey on Monday then, in an epic cornucopia-like showdown on Tuesday, and Chase got 3 targets, landing us in the final 2!!! We were so stoked! We asked Lord Ryan (our RA) if we could have the final battle after Thanksgiving break and he agreed. Everything was wrapped up for Thanksgiving break and I was seeeriously hanging out for stuffing and pie!!
-- Luce --
More scene work, school work, and exhaustion! And also I was finally reimbursed for my debit card fraud, so that was a huge weight off my shoulders! Before I knew it, I had made it through the short school week and it was time for Thanksgiving! YAYYY! I left my apartment at 3:30 and steeled myself for the hour and a half drive to Corona... But little did I know that with all of the Thanksgiving traffic, the drive would actually be well over 3 and a half hours!!! I was going crazy in the car all by myself oh my goshhhh! Serious cabin fever! It was stop-start traffic for the whole 60 miles and I only got my speed above 30mph once! Oh man. It was such a relief when I finally made it to Mum & Q's and they had dinner ready and I could just flop onto the couch! It was lovely to settle in for the weekend.
-- Han and Luce --
Thanksgiving was a glorious day of relaxing and eating. SO MUCH FOOD! Mum cooked up a mouth-watering storm all morning and we pigged out on an amazing Thanksgiving lunch!
Turkey, stuffing, corn pudding, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, homemade cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and strawberry wine made for one incredible meal!
On Friday afternoon we went and saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and it exceeded our expectations! It was PERFECT!! Ahh SO true to the book, exciting, amazingly acted - Jennifer Lawrence is such a star - we were wonderfully satisfied with it! After that, we went into LA for a Korean BBQ dinner with Chambers and had a really good chat about what we want to do moving forward in our careers. This seems as good a time as any to announce it: the two of us have decided to take a break from school after this semester to focus on pursuing our careers in LA! It'll be a huge adventure and we cannot wait to get started! We've had the most incredible college experiences and we're so appreciative of everyone's the love and support - we couldn't chase our dreams without it!
Anyway, back to the blog! On Saturday we went to the cinema in Downtown Disney and saw Frozen - 2 movies in one weekend, we're so lucky! - it was also PERFECT and Lucy and I were feeling some sister love and channeling our inner Anna and Elsa. To make the night even more perfect, we went into Disney and saw World of Color: Winter Dreams, the holiday version of World of Color with all sorts of holiday cheer and Frozen inspiration.
Sunday came and neither of us reeeaally wanted to face the next couple tough weeks at school, but the time came to say goodbye and we were on the final stretch!
-- Han --
Only two weeks left of school!! WOW! The semester went by SO FAST! The last week of regular classes was completely insane and busy, but there was definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.
I started the week off right with a Sunday night Disney trip with Tosh and JT. We saw World of Color and went on the Tower of Terror twice! The second time truly was terrifying because I thought it'd be fun to pull out some slack in the belt so I wasn't held in as tight. I realized, a little too late, that I'd pulled out A LOT more slack than I'd meant to! The guys, fearing for my life, held onto me and kept me from flying too far off the seat haha. I think they were more scared than I was! It was a really fun night and it was great to experience Disney's holiday magic with two of my best friends, awww.
A highlight of the week was Chase and my Assassins finale! We, as only theatre majors would, choreographed a whole epic battle and invited the whole hall! (We also advertised the event on our hall's facebook page)
(Video of the finale to come!)
We had SO MUCH fun aaaand I didn't mind the win haha the first ever female victor Lord Ryan's had!
Another fun event was my last RAD self-defense class! We all geared up and took out the officer/aggressor. I felt kind of bad, though, because he's been really sick, he's a little on the older side, and the girl before me kicked him REALLY hard in the nuts, so I just couldn't bring myself to give it everything I had. It was still a lot of fun though! A video may be coming soon...
I had my last two Performing Techniques classes and they were really wonderful, more collaborative than they have been and I felt much closer to my classmates afterwards. The weekend mostly involved studying for finals, last little hang outs and boba runs, and creating a piece that involved all the techniques from the semester for the Performing Techniques final.
Then... Finals week.
-- Luce --
Oh my goodness one week before finals!!!! Which also meant my last week of actual classes because my acting final was on the Tuesday of the next week. There was a lot of reviewing in my theory classes which was pretty boring, but luckily my other classes were very exciting! My acting class was spent rehearsing my final scene with Alisa, and so was my voice class! In movement class we all learned a bunch of cool tricks and lifts leading up to our final class... And in our final movement class, the students were split into 3 groups and we each had to make up a circus routine/scene as our final! It was so fun! we got to utilize a bunch of techniques we'd learned like head-stands, hand-stands, miming, elephant walks, bird lifts, and a lot of other stuff! We all had a great time :) After my last classes on Thursday, my classmates and I had our first rehearsal for our final performance! Our performance was a 2 hour long show where each person in the class shows their final scene as well as some people showcasing their work from throughout the semester. I was chosen to do two pf my pieces from the semester which was really cool! So I did my clone scene as well as my Autodrama. I was also in another person's clone scene, so I had a lot on my plate! I wasn't too stressed, though, because the first rehearsal went so well! Friday was another rehearsal, and my classmates and I were starting to work out the kinks, thank goodness! And it was all leading up to the final performance.....!!!!!

-- Han and Luce --
Saturday was incredibly surreal and exciting, one of those days that we knew was an important step on the right path. We woke up early and went to Beverly Hills for our haircuts! Leonie was awesome and spent almost 5 hours colouring and highlighting and cutting and trimming and styling our hair!
We felt like regular celebrities, getting all pampered. After that we went and got new headshots taken in Downtown LA - 25 minutes away, thank goodness! There was a heart-attack-inducing mix up with the address where we briefly thought it was two hours away, so we were extra grateful we didn't have to go far! The headshots went really well! The photographer was so sweet, really talented, and gave us a good deal because we were shooting together, nice one!
After that we went to Bronzed Aussie to get some sausage rolls, meat pies, a custard tart and an apple pie! The perfect end to a wonderful day!
Sunday we had a lazy morning then went to the Grove to see Meme and get Sprinkles Cupcakes! It was poppin! All decked out for Christmas and getting ready to light up the tree that night. We saw a bunch of singers warming up for the celebration that night, including Gavin DeGraw who was absolutely gorgeous! The holiday cheer was infectious and we're getting very excited for Q's birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all right around the corner!!
We drove back to Chapman because Han had a 12 page paper to write (eww) and Luce had to work on her final celebrity performance for Monday!
-- Luce --
Monday was a complete whirlwind - probably one of the most stressful days of my life haha..! So, on Sunday I was talking to my friend Alicia and neither of us were feeling very excited about our celebrity performances the next day, so we decided (somewhat foolishly) to change our celebrities to Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles so we could sing a duet together! The main complication was that Alicia was in Washington visiting her family and wasn't going to be back in LA until 11:30pm! So we practiced by ourselves until I picked her up from the airport and then we went back to her place and rehearsed until a little after 2:30 in the morning! We woke up at 5:30 on Monday morning and got ready for the big day ahead. We were practicing at school at about 7:30 when I got an email from my teacher saying that he wanted to talk to Alicia and me about our last-minute change.. Uh oh. So we met with him and he said that he didn't think that there was enough movement in our new choice and he wanted us to change back to our original choices!! Ahh! Alicia couldn't because she didn't have her Britney costume, but when he asked me if I could do Katy Perry I (again, somewhat foolishly) was honest and said that I did have my costume and could do it even though I hadn't practiced it in the last 5 days!! So my teacher decided to make me re-do Katy Perry AND he said Alicia could perform as Sara Bareilles for her celebrity so that meant that I had to do both!!! I was freaking out. I practiced my butt off in the hour before my acting class started but I was still really nervous! To add to the stress, a bunch of the upperclassmen came in to watch my class perform..! Omg. I was 8th on the list to do Katy and by some stroke of luck, after the 6th person's performance all of the upperclassmen had to leave to go to class! So that wasa lot less pressure thank goodness! It got to my performance and I was a little flustered to begin with, but once the music started playing it all came back to me and I remembered all my movements!! Hooray! Katy Perry was done and it was a success! Next was my duet with Alicia and it went quite well too despite how rushed we'd been with getting it prepared :) after that I was in one more performance and that went down without a hitch as well! Phewww I made it through the class! Straight after acting class I hopped in the car and drove over to Chpman to pick Han up so we could go and see mum!! Yayyyyyyyy!!!
-- Han and Luce --
It was SO WONDERFUL to see Mum and the doggies!! Ahh we had a great time catching up, picnicking in the empty house, playing with the pups, and snuggling on the air mattress with mum. Just what we needed after a big day! Mum dropped Han back to Chapman and Luce went home too later that night, excited to get all the furniture delivered on Thursday!
-- Han --
When I got back to Chaptown I went straight to a meeting for my hall announcing, in honour of The Hunger Games: The COPA Games. (More commonly known as Assassin). The people participating all got assigned a target to kill by poking them with a crayon. There are rules and safe zones but they're constantly changing and oh man has this game taken over my life this week!!
I went to kickboxing with Megan in the morning on Tuesday and hatched a plan to kill my target later that day...
I had another theatre major to kill, but on the first day we were allowed 10 minutes of safety before and after class (we were also safe in the cafe, the lounge, classes, our hall, and in groups of 3 COPA people) so I had to bide my time. I went back on the shuttle with him and when the clock clicked over I pounced! He then gave me his target and I knew she was waiting to kill her target, so I raced back to the dorms and got her as well before she knew what hit her! A couple hours later, by third target asked me to stand with him so he'd be safe while he waited for his target to get back from class. I seized the opportunity and got him, making me the only person to kill 3 people and also responsible for almost half of the deaths on day 1.
By yesterday I had been dubbed the Black Widow, so now I have a HUGE target on my back - nice going. I know who has me, though, so as long as I can avoid him I'll be fine! My target, a dance major named Hannah, was terrified of me though. I couldn't kill her yesterday, but that's not to say it wasn't a total bloodbath! The game's heating up and people are dropping like flies! Spencer got killed right after his dance performance (which I went to, he was incredible!), JT sustained an injury running from his own roommate, Tosh killed Sierra, paranoia is running rampant - it's pretty intense.
But back to my target being scared of me haha so she should have been! I knew she had class at 8:30 this morning, so I woke up early, waited outside in the cold and rain (ohh yea, I'm taking this game pretty seriously) and got her as she left Henley!
It's been crazy but an amazing bonding experience - I'll update the blog with any major events!
The movers are over at the house unpacking and I can't wait to go over tonight for dinner and see the house with everything in it! It also might be good to get away from the COPA Games for a little while... I only have to survive for a few more hours and I'll be untouchable! Can't wait for a fun weekend this weekend, my last few classes of the semester, and more crazy times with all the COPA people out to get each other!
-- Luce --
Tuesday was an entirely uneventful day for me - pretty much just recovering from the drama and no sleep on Monday!

Tuesday was an entirely uneventful day for me - pretty much just recovering from the drama and no sleep on Monday!
Wednesday was a pretty normal day as well.. I was just hanging out, when I decided to quick look at my mobile banking app on my phone too see how my bank account was going.. But when I looked, I saw that over 100 dollars was missing from my account! What?! When I looked at where it had been spent in my previous transactions it said it was at Ocean Seafoods in LA which I have never been to in my life!! There was something very "fishy" (haha) going on... But I couldn't call the bank because I had to go to class so I figured it'd be fine if I just called after class.. When I checked my app again after class I discovered that it was absolutely NOT fine! Another $400 had been taken out and whoever it was that took my debit card info had tried to take even more than that!! Ahh! I called the bank straight away and explained to them that I had been the victim of fraud! I couldn't even believe it! More than $500 gone in less than 3 hours! Luckily Bank of America completely reimburses any money lost to credit card fraud and the guy I spoke to on the phone was incredibly helpful. But what a stressful ordeal! I had to cut up my card and I'm now waiting on a new one in the mail - thank goodness I'm seeing Mum and Q this weekend otherwise I would've been completely flat broke with no way to access any of my money! To take my mind off the stress, my roomies and I all went to see a late night showing of About Time and it was such a wonderful movie! It really had the most beautiful message and the acting and story were impeccable. I absolutely loved it!
Thursday was an easy day at school, and then once my school day was over I saw LACC's production of Comedy of Errors and it was great! All of the actors did such an amazing job and it was so fun to see all three of my roommates in a show together! As soon as the show was over, I raced home, packed my stuff for this weekend and then got in the car with Qee and we were off to pick up Han and go home to the new house!!!! Woohoo!

Makin' it Happen!
-- Han and Luce --
Last week wasn't too crazy for either of us! On Monday Luce had her final Animal performance which went really well - best grade yet! Woo! Han also had a great time in her acting classes because the top professor came in to teach Meisner work, so fun and really helpful.
Friday came quickly and we went to Disney - California Adventure - with a couple of Lucy's friends. We did all the wild rides and, for the first time ever, the two of us saw the Aladdin show TWICE in one day! We're still not sure if that was pathetic or an achievement, but it was actually really cool to see two completely different casts, one after another. We drove back to Lucy's and crashed out because we had to get up pretty early the next day.
On Saturday morning we had consultations with a hairdresser in Beverly Hills! It was pretty much the most extravagant and surreal experience ever - we definitely got a taste of what it would be like to live the dream! Beverly Hills is absolutely beautiful and everyone was so stylish and put together, yea, we could see ourselves living there one day... Anyway, we'd been sent with instructions from Chambers to let the hairdresser do whatever she wanted and she ended up deciding on cuts/colours for both of us that we're really excited about! After the consultation we visited MeMe at Starbucks, had a delicious lunch of spaghetti squash cooked by chef Lucy, and got ready to head back to Chapman to see Spring Awakening. Just as we were about to leave, Han saw on the Chapman facebook page where they post all the film opportunities that there had been an opportunity to get a union voucher that day in LA!! Ahh! We were seeeeriously bumming because we totally could have done it! Han decided to email the guy, just in case they needed people for Sunday, and we headed to Chapman to see the show. They did a GREAT job, and the guy who played Melchior was pretty damn gorgeous, so we got a little eye (and ear, he had an amazing voice) candy thrown in too! After the show we grabbed some food on campus and Han checked her email to find... They did need people the next day on that film for a prom scene!! YAY! We quickly changed our plans around, Han grabbed all the stuff she'd need, we popped in to the after party from the show for half an hour - which was really nice, said hi to all the crazy, wonderful theatre kids - and headed back to LA! Deja vu all over again...
Sunday was an 11:00am call time which wasn't too bad, although we had to drive a fair way to get there. When we arrived they told us they'd sent out an email moving the call time back to 12:30! Gaahh! They said they actually needed an extra in the scene they were filming, though, so we asked if there was any chance they could use us both? They said 'yes' so we turned on all the Aussie charm and twin guilt we could muster, and Luce asked if being in that scene meant we could pooossibly get principle Taft Hartley contacts (which means we'd be SAG eligible in one go!) annnnndd...
THEY SAID YES!!! In the scene we were in, the bitchy queen bee and the cute but socially awkward girl find out they've worn the same dress to prom! Oh no!! Han was part of the bitchy posse and Luce was fixing her makeup in the bathroom and then walked out as the cute girl came in. The crew was so nice, and with everyone crammed into this tiny high school bathroom there were heaps of funny little moments.
We also met a couple nice, funny, and very good-looking guys, Nick and Matt, that we spent most of the day with. We had to all dance on the dance floor, but of course there wasn't any music! It was hilarious! The AD kept yelling out if it was a slow, medium, or fast song and we got to be pros at switching in between. Matt was technically meant to be a 'chaperone' so he kept breaking us up and we had to work so hard to keep from laughing! At one point, a definite highlight in Han's career, they pulled her away because they sequins on her dress would help refract light - Han was basically a human lighting device hahaha oh background. So, after a fun day's work reliving prom, we are officially SAG eligible!
We wrapped earlier than expected and decided to go out afterwards to Del Taco. We had great conversation, a lotta laughs, and then called it a night fairly early and said goodbye to the two charmers. We both got home at decent hours for another week of school!
-- Luce --
On Monday I slept in for the first time in a very long time because I had the day off school for Remembrance Day! I spent the rest of the day working on my Celebrity assignment..! For the assignment we have to choose a singer's live performance and mimic their movements exactly and we can either lip-sync or sing along to a backing track while we perform. I chose Katy Perry and had a really fun time memorizing her moves :) On Wednesday I performed and it went pretty well! Not perfect, but I still felt good about it! It was also cool to see all the celebrities that my friends chose! That night Emily, MeMe and I went out and saw the new Thor movie and it was SO GOOD!!! I screamed, I laughed, I cried.. Ah, it was amazing!
On Thursday I had a pretty relaxed day at school and then later that night I went out on a lovely date with Nick - the nice guy we had met on set - so that was a great end to the week!
Then it was Friday and off to see Han!
-- Han --
This week was super busy but really great too! Monday was Remembrance Day which, even though we didn't get the day off school, I still recognized with my Canadian friend Tosh. We went to the rock garden in the Interfaith Center and played the Last Post and had a minute of silence at 11:00. It was really special to still be able to observe that tradition and I felt like a good Aussie, thanking our troops from thousands of miles away. On Monday night Laynie and I worked up the courage to attend the kickboxing class they offer on campus and it was SO FUN!! I absolutely loved it and I definitely want to keep going for the rest of the time they offer it.
Tuesday's activity was this Shambhala meditation I had heard about and it was actually a pretty awesome experience. It was an hour and a half long but the time flew by. It was great to work on centering myself, especially with some stressful assignments looming!
One such assignment is a 10-15 page research paper on immigration law that I've been working on, waahh! It's really interesting stuff though, so I don't mind too much, I just know the due date is going to sneak up on me... I had a paper for another class due Monday, one due Tuesday, and 4 more on the horizon! I just need to push through though, because Thanksgiving is also on the horizon and I CANNOT WAIT!
On Wednesday I was meant to have the last installment of my RAD Self Defense class where I get to use my skills to get past the 'aggressors' but it got cancelled - so hopefully that'll be a story for the next blog!
I had an audition at Dodge on Thursday which was heaps of fun; it was mostly improv and ad-libbing, so I had free rain and loved it!
And then it was Friday! Luce came out in the afternoon and we did an audition at Dodge together - which ended up taking AGES, we were there for about 3 hours! We also stopped in at the mall nearby because I found out there was a Cotton On! Then it was back to Lucy's for some much needed sleep to tackle an exciting and busy weekend!

A Crazy Halloweek
We got the photos from our last shoot! Here're our faves:
-- Han --
This week was CRAZY busy in the most fun way possible! On Monday night mum and I went out to shop for a Halloween costume (which we didn't end up getting but we had a giggle anyway) and had Thai for dinner again at our usual spot. Tuesday marked the start of a waaayyyy too rigorous workout plan that personal trainer JT is helping Megan, Laynie, and me with to get fit. We did this crazy leg workout - involving soo manyyy burpeeeees! - and I swear my legs are still sore almost a week later. It felt good though and we're excited to be committing to getting healthy and working off that freshman 15 we've got going. Thursday was Halloween and it was one crazy night at Chaptown! I had some important stuff happening on Friday, though, so I opted for a much more tame approach: trick or treating then a movie night with my girlfriends! We had a great haul of candy and it was just a silly, fun night!

I had some important stuff happening on Friday, though, so I opted for a much more tame approach: trick or treating then a movie night with my girlfriends! We had a great haul of candy and it was just a silly, fun night!
On Friday I had class in the morning then a performance of a scene for the Junior directing class at 12:30! It was really lovely, it was my second one that I've done and it went really well, I was very happy with my performance and proud of my scene partners. From there I went straight to my first ever Chapman film! I was playing the ghost of a woman who had killed her children then herself, pretty morbid stuff, and it's a recurring little series so I'll get to work on it again next semester! It was a super fun cast and crew, they ordered us Chipotle for lunch which was awesome, and I was rockin some seriously freaky makeup!
It was a big afternoon - including some AMAZING news: Mum and Q successfully bought their dream house!! YAY! We can't wait for them to move out for some much needed fam time and homecooked meals!
On Saturday, mostly recovered from Tuesday and having skipped out on the workout on Halloween, I made it to the gym with the gang. We went to the big gym on campus for the first time and it was intimidating to say the least! Hahaha the three of us girls were a little on the pathetic/embarrassing side but we made it through our back and shoulders workout with only a few extra special moments (one of which involved putting our feet in these ropes so they were a few inches off the floor, then doing push ups... I was actually pretty proud of myself! I managed to do a total of 24!). The rest of the day was restful because I was saving my energy up for an exciting night!
I was ushering for American Celebration, a big fundraising Gala for Chapman scholarships, with my friends and it was the best excuse to get all dressed up!!
It's a huge event with cocktails, a performance by some of the students, and a decadent dinner in a beautiful and extravagant tent. I had a couple friends in the show, so we snuck in to watch after ushering and they did a great job! So proud of them!
After AmCel Luce arrived at Chapman for a night on the town! As always, it was so great to have her here! :)
Skipping ahead to Sunday night, I had my second film!! It was called Ugly Person With a Cause about a woman, Charlotte, who's fighting for ugly people's right to play the villain in films. It was a funny script and I had a small role towards the end as the makeup artist that makes Charlotte look like a hag when she finally gets a role. It was an incredible learning experience and it felt so great to be in front of a camera and have lines! It was an awesome taster of having a role on a real set, so much fun!!

Wow, what a week!! School has been getting more and more intense and I don't even know how I'm getting everything done! On Monday my voice class started a whole new exercise which was equal parts exciting and terrifying because it was so different to what we'd been doing in the past 10 weeks..! But I am finally starting to get a good grasp on it now thank goodness! In acting class everyone did their Animal projects - an assignment where we all go and observe different animals and then choose one specific one (mine was a Hummingbird) to imitate for the class. We had 3 minutes each and that was divided into some time acting as the animal on stage - noises and all! - and some time delivering a monologue where the character keeps a lot of the animal's characteristics. I had a great time doing it and, somewhat surprisingly, really enjoyed writing my monologue! I was a shallow sorority girl who had really bad party anxiety and it was so much fun! Also, I got very few notes from my teacher which is always a relief!
One thing that made last week a little more challenging than usual was that I had to usher 3 times for my school's production of Death of a Salesman..! It wasn't too bad because we could either watch the show (which was 3 hours long) or sit in a different room and do homework :) But it was still spending 13 hour days at the school which was pretty rough - took me back to the good old days of doing the shows at AB and spending all of my time at school!!
Friday was a great day because I was on the set of the new show "Ground Floor" and it was one of the best background days I've ever had! They were filming one of the last scenes of the last episode and all I'll say is that it was on a really pretty set and I got the cutest outfit ever from wardrobe! There was such amazing energy on set and everyone was smiling and people were showering me with compliments so I loved it haha! Oh, and I also got to see Skylar Astin from Pitch Perfect and he was gorgeous and funny - nothing like some good eye candy to brighten your day!
Saturday was a day of ushering and chores and freaking out about all of the stuff I had to do! Luckily, I was headed to Chapman that night to see Han - a welcome distraction from the overload of work that was on my plate!
-- Han and Luce --
We were SO excited for an opportunity to dress up (because Halloweekend was still in full swing) and we settled on going out as Sandy and Rizzo from Grease!
We went out to a couple parties then couldn't resist a late night run to get boba at a tea bar nearby, it was perfect! We hit the sack already looking forward to a Sunday in Disneyland!
It felt like ages since we went with Q! We mostly did California Adventure this time, went on a couple rides, met Mr. Incredible, and saw THE BEST performance of the Aladdin stage show we'd EVER SEEN! And that's saying something!! The genie made the show, he was INCREDIBLE! Great singer, SO funny. Han was also completely convinced that Aladdin was played by the director of her first directing scene, he looked EXACTLY like him, buuuut in response to a "OH MY GOSH did you play Aladdin in Disneyland today?!" text, Han got a "Nope, I was just sittin on my couch..." hahaha deeerrrp.... It was a compliment though because Aladdin was super cute and the show was just great!
We called it a day pretty early because Luce had heaps to do for her upcoming performances at LACC and Han had to get back to Chapman for her second film of the weekend! It's not getting easier to say goodbye, but we know we're sure to see each other next weekend!

Time Flies :)
-- Hannah --
The last two weeks have flown by! I started off last week with a super fun Monday night - I sat around with JT, Laynie, and Megan, three of my besties at Chapman, and played guitar and sang (I mostly listened but still.. haha) it was so relaxing and fun, one of those really special ordinary moments. The week continued with the craziness of midterms, papers, a couple auditions at Dodge, and an acting workshop with one of the professors.
Friday night was great! After making it through a busy week, I went to a Greek life fundraiser called Air Bands in which all the sororities and fraternities team up to do dance/lip-syncing numbers. It was hilarious and there were a couple obvious standouts - one group did an exact recreation of the Thriller video clip and one fraternity that's not really a fraternity did this bizarre non-performance to What Does the Fox Say (they pretty much just walked/rolled around on stage, ate some twizzlers, and played on their phones haha too funny). The frats and sororities get pretty into it, though, so it was fun to watch, and Sierra was in the dance for Gamma Phi Beta so it was nice to watch and support her! After that we went over to Megan and Laynie's room and about seven of us piled onto one bed and we watched Hercules. It was perfect!
On Saturday I caught the train to see Luce! YAY! We spent the rest of the weekend together and it was a really lovely getaway from some stress and drama going on on campus.
-- Lucy --
Ahhh what a busy couple of weeks! Last week was an onslaught of midterms, performances, and papers! Luckily, I did well on all of my tests - thank goodness! And in acting class I had my first run through of my "clone scene" - a two minute scene with no dialogue where everyone is split into pairs. The pairs then make a scene for one person and they split the stage in half so it's an exact replica on both sides, then when acting out the scene, one partner is on each side and they act out the scene simultaneously, making all the same movements - the main complication is that one side has props and the other doesn't! It's hard to explain, but it was really difficult - especially just getting in sync with my partner. Also because we had to be cloned down to the finest details - like how far apart our feet were on the floor and the tiniest of hand movements and stuff like that! Ah, it was crazy but really fun and my partner Marco and I ended up getting great feedback.
After a hectic week at school I did background work on Friday. It was on "The Middle" and I had a wonderful time! I saw some friends from background that I hadn't seen in a while and there was also some amazing food which I looovvveeeddd! :) Oh, and it was filming at Warner Bros. Studios which is always cool. After that I went home and chilled out, very excited to see Han the next day!
-- Han and Luce --
On Saturday we went to the Beverly Center which was the most beautiful shopping mall we'd ever seen! Luce got some glamorous Clinique makeup and a cute dress at Macy's and we both got our free Godiva truffle of the month and wished we could have a dozen more! After that we visited MeMe at The Grove and got a cupcake each from sprinkles to have for dessert later. Luce made THE BEST dinner for us when we got home - couscous, grilled lemon and herb chicken, and roasted sweet potato - and we watched Magic Mike before falling into bed, exhausted after a busy week. On Sunday, Han's friend Laynie caught the train into LA to come to Mosaic with us! We went and had lunch at Pink's before going to the 1:00 service.
Mosaic was as wonderful and inspiring as ever, and the three of us got free fish tacos afterwards, went to boba, and strolled down Hollywood Blvd - we even ran into Meryl!
Luce drove Laynie and Han back to Chapman and we buckled down for another big week of schoolwork!
-- Han --
This past week was even more academically challenging than the last! I had three midterms and a performance in my acting class. A highlight amidst the craziness was a 1:00am trip out to get boba with JT after making the best studyguide ever for Performing Techniques. I felt great about all my midterms at the end of it all, so now I'll just have to wait and see what the results are! The other exciting news from the week is that I got roles in two different productions at Dodge! YAY!! I'm super excited to be able to get in front of a camera and, even though the roles are pretty small, I'm feeling great that I've finally gotten a couple after plugging away and auditioning for everything I can. I have a callback for another role tonight, so hopefully I can keep the momentum going! They film this coming weekend, so I'll write all about it in the next post! This last weekend was really lovely, too, because Mum and Q were here to house-hunt! Woo!! It was really great to be back together, even if only for a couple days :)
-- Luce --
Luckily in this past week I haven't had too much academic stuff going on - midterms pretty much ended last week! I did have the final performance of my clone scene and it was great! (and don't worry - the blood and black eyes were all part of the scene haha!)
I also had a little midterm conference with my acting teacher and that went really well too - he had nothing but nice things to say! Yay! Other than that, I've just been cooking up a storm making all sorts of yummy things! Spaghetti squash is my latest obsession :) Really, though, this week was all about the lead up to see Mum and Q on the weekend! Woohoo!
-- Han and Luce --
We looked at houses all day Friday and Saturday and ended up finding the most PERFECT home! Yeeee!! Now all we have to do is get it - no small task, but fingers crossed it all goes smoothly! We also revisited the delicious Thai restaurant because we just had to share it with Mum and we went out to Olive Garden on Saturday night. It was a really easy going couple days and it was veeerrryyyy nice to sleep in the lovely hotel beds! On Sunday we had a lazy morning and went to lunch at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. It was such a tease not to be able to go into the parks all together but we're looking forward to next time when Mum and Q are out for good and the Christmas overlay is up, so magical! We all went back to our separate places and Luce and I had homework - Luce also had a performance to prepare for today! So exciting! Han gets an extra outing with Mum today, so lucky! They're getting sushi and potentially shopping for a Halloween costume, can't wait! It was a great weekend and we know the time's going to fly by up till Thanksgiving then Christmas!! YAY! We're over the halfway point of the semester and looking forward to some wonderful holidays and relaxation in the not-too-distant future!

Spoils Week!
-- Han and Luce --
This week at Chapman was "Spoils Week" for all the girls in sororities so they got presents every day from their Bigs, but man, they don't even know what spoiled is! We were spoiled rotten this week and are feeling so lucky and loved! We had the most lovely week because Qee was in town!! It was so great to reunite the "Goober Gang" (potentially renamed the Goon Squad..) for some laughs, adventures, and soooo much yummy food!
Monday started off on such a sweet note because we both got care packages from the Larsons! It was the best surprise and it got even better when we opened them up - the most incredible, chocolatey, gooey brownies we've ever had in our lives! Ahh exactly what we needed! Love you guys, thank you SO SO much!!
That night we we drove out to Corona to check out the area that Mum and Q are thinking of moving to!! We went to the Lone Star Steakhouse for dinner for some well needed red meat, YUM! Ahh how we've missed steak! It was great southern comfort food and combined with getting some quality family time, we were feeling very looked after. Q dropped us back at our schools and we were ready to face the week!
It was business as usual Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Great classes, Han had an audition at Dodge, we hung out with friends, and Lucy was on TV twice!! First on The Mindy Project, and then on CSI! Very exciting!
Wednesday night the three of us went out for another delicious dinner! We had pizza at an authentic Italian restaurant and the food was AMAZING! We ate way more than we should have - Han no joke had seven slices of pizza... seven. We rolled ourselves out and back home where we had to knuckle down and do some homework! Eeeek! Classes have been ramping up and we both had papers and midterms looming. It wasn't too hard to get work done, though, because we knew we had a fun weekend to look forward to!
Thursday was a bit of a stressful day. Han had a paper due and a midterm to study for, and Luce had the same in addition to an unexpected issue with, surprise surprise, the poor Subi!
-- Luce --
Oooff Thursday was rough! I got a puncture in one of the tires on the Subi on the way to school and I didn't even know until I was in the parking lot! Ahhh I was so stressed! And I was also late to class for the first time :( I figured that I wouldn't be able to do anything about it until I was out of school for the day, so I tried to push it to the back of my mind so I could focus on my midterm! I ended up doing really well on that test so that was a huge relief! But as soon as school was over it was time to figure out the Subi situation! When I got out to the car I saw that someone had left a note telling me to be careful because my tire was flat - so sweet! I proceeded to call AAA and they were there quickly and put the spare tire on for me. Then the AAA guy suggested that I go to an autoshop close by to get my tire fixed and I'm glad he did because the guys at the autoshop were so nice! I ended up having to replace the tire and they gave me a good deal so I drove home very carefully a little while later. It was quite an ordeal but everyone was incredibly helpful which was lovely and made me feel confident that I could handle a situation like that again in the future - even though I hopefully won't have to!!
-- Han and Luce --
We made it through the week's challenges and on Friday morning we met up to go house hunting! We started off with some of the best donuts we've ever had then set off to explore Corona! The area is absolutely beautiful and exactly what we had hoped for. The views of the mountains are spectacular and it's still not too far away from LA, and quite close to Orange County! All we could do was look up houses online and see them from the outside, but it was great to get a sense of the area and we found a couple we definitely want to go back and have a proper look at!
We had an early dinner of yet another thing we've been missing, Thai food. We went to this dinky little place Sierra had recommended and it was SO GOOD! We pigged out on green curry, pad see ew, fried rice, shrimp spring rolls, and satay chicken.
Another fun thing about Friday was that we got Halloween themed care packages from Mum! So cute!! We put up the decorations as soon as we got back to Han's room that night.
Luce stayed over at Chapman for the first time, so fun! We had planned to go out and stay up late, but we were both so tired that we ended up just hanging out for a bit then went to sleep. We discovered the next day that there's a hole in the air mattress, yikes!! Poor Luce woke up and it was completely deflated :( that barely put a dent in our excitement, though, because we were going to Disney with Q!!
We got to the park around 8:30 and made it into the best parking lot for the first time. We walked through Downtown Disney and got beingets on our way in. Luce, in a bit of a special moment, forgot her pass, so we had to go to the ticket booth and get her a temporary one - but then we were in! Q used his brand new Annual Passport for the first time, so exciting!

Luce, in a bit of a special moment, forgot her pass, so we had to go to the ticket booth and get her a temporary one - but then we were in! Q used his brand new Annual Passport for the first time, so exciting!
We ran and got fastpasses for World of Color and Radiator Springs Racers, then went on Soarin' Over California as our first ride of the day. After that we headed into Disneyland and did all our faves - including finally going on the refurbished Haunted Mansion ride! So cool!!
We also went on Star Tours, the line up for which was a bit of an experience...We were waiting behind this mesmerizingly odd group of women, kind of gothic, a bit dirty, one of them kept coughing on Q, and about 10 minutes into the wait we saw one of them take a pill of some kind - and it definitely wasn't a vitamin. She started swaying where she stood, eyes all droopy/fluttery, really weird... But luckily where the line splits we got separated from them and didn't sit next to them on the actual ride! Phew! They at least distracted us in the long line, oh man...
After that, we saw Mickey and the Magical Map which was as great as ever, had a seriously yummy lunch of fried chicken and veggies, went over to CA Adventure to see Aladdin, did Tower of Terror and Radiator Springs Racers, then went back to Disney to do Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy with Qee!
It was a long wait but SO worth it! Q loved it and it was fun to go on as our last ride. It timed up perfectly for us to head over to watch World of Color too! We found an awesome spot to watch from and the show was incredible! We were all missing mum, though, and wished she could've been there too - next time though! We called it a night after that and Q dropped us back at Chapman. Again, we had plans to go out but bailed, completely exhausted from a wonderful day in Disney.
Sunday morning we went to an open house for one of the homes we liked for Mum and Q! It seemed great from the photos online and outside, but when we got there it was a bit of a disappointment. BUT it was okay because we ended up stumbling upon another area with some new construction homes that were absolutely beautiful! We got to walk through the model home and fell in love, so fun! Can't wait for mum to come out and have a look!!
We drove back to LA and had a coffee together before Q and Luce dropped Han off at the Cirque du Soleil tent where she was meeting up with her theatre class to watch the performance! It was a bummer to say goodbye, but with Mum and Q moving out, we know we'll be able to see them soon!
-- Han --
The show, Totem, was awesome!! Ahh it's just indescribable how amazing the performers are at what they do. It was heaps of fun to go see the show with all my friends and it was truly an inspiring show to watch!
I went back on the bus with everyone, and on the way back I got a text from Mum that she was watching Revenge and I was all through the episode! YAY!! I was on TV! Haha it was so exciting to know that I'd made it into the episode and I can't wait to watch it myself!

Livin' that Cali College Life! :)
-- Hannah --
These last couple weeks have been crazy busy! I've gotten into a great routine and the time's flying by. Some days I sleep in, some I go do homework by the pool, I've been auditioning at Dodge - I got my first callback! YAY! I didn't get the role but it was a step in the right direction! - and I'm learning heaps in my classes. Two weekends ago on Friday night I watched Present Laughter, the first play of the season at Chapman, and it was really good! The acting was great and the show was super funny. Sierra and I went out to a couple parties afterwards and had a great time with some of her sorority sisters. On Saturday, there was a Cirque du Soleil acting/dance workshop on campus which was awesome! We learned about the give and take of energy and being connected to your scene partner - and we also clowned around a bit and played with slapstick comedy. There are just so many cool opportunities here! Sunday was a lazy morning, and I had every intention of doing homework and being productive before a spontaneous Disney trip beckoned! I went in with a few friends and it was a great afternoon!
We rocked out to ACDC in the car on the way there, did all the big, thrilling rides, hoped to see Steve Carell cause he was there that day (but didn't), and finished the arvo off with Indiana Jones - so cool! It was my first time in Disney without Luce, though, which was a little tough. Two weeks was a long time to be apart! We got back to Chapman around 7:30 and I left for church at 8:30! It's such a great group of people that go and it seems to grow every week! This time Sierra and Matthew came with and it was so nice to share the experience with them.
I had a pretty uneventful week, gearing up for midterms and writing papers, then last Friday night I went to a Delt party with some theatre and dance friends at "The Bayou".
I learned when I got there that the house got its nickname because the pool is so terrifyingly dirty and murky, with leaves and random objects in it (I'm pretty sure a chair was lost forever in there...), that it looks kinda like a swamp and everyone's afraid to go in it! Haha at least they have a sense of humor about it! It wasn't a super late night, though, because the next day Luce and I were hitting up, you guessed it.... DISNEYLAND!
-- Luce --
Oh my goodness it's been a crazy couple of weeks!!! In the last week of September I did my final performance of my Autodrama and it went well - I got a really good grade and was voted one of the best in my class! :)
The day after that was my first time ever seeing myself on tv!! It was on the second episode of New Girl and I was so excited!!!!! Ah!
.jpg)
On the Thursday of that week I ushered for the show that my theatre program was putting on and I actually had a really fun time! It was kinda cool to be the person checking tickets and showing audience members where to go! I also had some time to bond with some of the people that I hadn't talked to very much out of class which was lovely.
The night after that I went to a friend's 21st birthday party in Hollywood! He rented out a hotel suite on Hollywood Blvd and invited heaps of people! It was really fun for a while until hotel security showed up because there had been noise complaints! Oops!! So they proceeded to kick everyone out of the room which was pretty stressful.. We all hung out by the pool for a bit and then decided to go our separate ways. When I left I went out and got some calming tea with a friend and then went home around 2:00 in the morning - it was a great night! The next day I had to wake up at 5:30 to get ready to be on the set of Veep by 8! Oh my gosh I did not enjoy only getting 3 hours of sleep! I was exhausted but it was still an amazing day on set!! The cast of Veep were so funny and I think I definitely made it into the shot which is cool! I also got to shake Julia Louis-Dreyfus' hand like 10 times in the scene! Ah it was so awesome - I was starstruck! Another cool thing was that I made friends with a guy who looks EXACTLY like young Leonardo DiCaprio..! I literally couldn't stop staring at him haha :)
Then on Sunday I went to church and MeMe couldn't go which was sad but I organized to meet some of my other school friends there.. But just as I got to the church my friends texted me saying that they actually had to stay home and study that night! Oh no! So I was there alone!! Usually I would have completely freaked out, but I just took a deep breath and decided that I was going to be okay! And, as luck would have it, I was getting some coffee and a nice guy started chatting with me and it turned out that we were both there alone so we decided to sit together! So everything was fine - phew!! I got home that night feeling ready to face the week and also feeling very confident and independent! Yay!
The next week was really rough for both Han and me because we were having some serious separation anxiety! We decided that 2 weeks is far too long for us to stay apart!!
On Thursday Emily, MeMe, and I all went to see the premiere of Don Jon and it was hilarious! Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great and a bunch of scenes were filmed at my school!!! It was crazy!! The girls and I were so excited! The next time we got to school we went to all of the places they had filmed at!! (This was one of them!)

That Friday I ushered again and had some great girl talk with my friend Alicia - it was very therapeutic! :)
Then it was the weekend and I saw Han again!!!!!! Woohoooo!!!!!!
-- Han and Luce --
Saturday was another fun Disney day! It also happened to be Gay Day, which was unexpected, so everyone was wearing red for LGBT pride/awareness. We watched this cute Tangled show with a guy who looked EXACTLY like Flynn Rider it was crazy - unfortunately, he was a bit of a mumbler or maybe drunk? Hopefully not haha but his performance wasn't super compelling. The two narrator guys were hilarious, though, and Rapunzel was perfect! We snuck away from Disney for a couple hours to have lunch at Chapman (including the world's most amazing peanut butter-banana Jamba Juice creations) and do an open call audition together at Dodge. We went back to Disney, we're terrified on Space Mountain again, and - because we just love it - watched Aladdin. We sat right down the front, swooned over Aladdin, and giggled at a hilariously inappropriate moment when one of the guards meant to push Aladdin's shoulder but actually just slapped him right on the man boob hahaha. After that we decided to do a late night Grizzly River Rapids! Apparently 5 years is about long enough to forget how SOAKED you get on that ride!! We were in a raft with this group of Portuguese people, all of us shrieking and getting sloshed with water - too funny. Luce then made quite the fashion statement and changed into Han's sporty shorts she was wearing under her skirt with her cute black blouse, kind of two worlds colliding, but it didn't even matter. We left a little later and crashed at Lucy's place.
On Sunday we had another photo shoot which went really well and was super fun! We'll post pics once he sends them to us. The best part of the weekend, though, was going to Mosaic. The pastor, Erwin, talked all about happiness and how to become happy and it was just incredible, exactly what we needed to hear! Feeling inspired, we drove to Chapman and said goodbye - which wasn't a terribly sad one because we knew we'd be seeing a lot of each other this week because Q's in town! YAY!! This week's excitement will be in a new post, though, and (G'pa, this is for you) we promise to try to be better about updating more regularly!
xoxo
