What a Week!

We're starting off the blog with a few exciting pieces of news!!
1) Ryan posted the podcast we did with him the other day! Go check it out, here's the link:
2) That audition Luce had last week....... She booked it!!! Woo!! It's such a fun role, a ditsy, popular high school girl, and it films tonight - so exciting!!
3) A review of GGGG was in the paper today and the reviewer LOVED it!! Not only that, but the two of us got a special mention as outstanding cast members!!! So, so flattering and exciting! Here's a link to that too:

We've had a pretty chill week and a really fun weekend! On Tuesday Luce had an audition and Han went to a stand-in (similar to body doubling) class at Central Casting. They were both successful and we decided to go out for dinner to celebrate how well we've been doing the last couple weeks! We went to a burger place in NoHo, Habit Burger, that someone recommended to us and it was amaaazing then Cold Stone Creamery for dessert! Yum!

On Wednesday Han self-taped an audition - which went better than usual because we hijacked Mum and Q's camera/tripod rather than using the webcam! Luce had her table reading for her webseries in the afternoon and Han went out on a hike in Griffith park with a really nice guy we met on set the other day.

-- Han --
We went to Griffith Park in search of the "bat cave" and started our hike! We were chatting and having a great time, choosing between countless forks in the road and taking paths less traveled. Before we knew it, it'd been a couple hours and we decided to turn back. That's when we ran into trouble... We had NO IDEA which way to go!! Ahh! My sense of direction is woeful at best, and it turned out that Dirk, the guy I was with, wasn't much better! We walked for aaaages, staying in great spirits buuuut definitely lost. We used google maps to at least lead us in the right direction BUT unfortunately google maps doesn't show topography. Around 7:00pm (we started our hike at 3:00) we reached the top of this huge crater and could juuuust see our cars. Below. On ground level. The sun was starting to set and the park closed at dusk, so we knew we had to hurry but there was no clear path down. A woman from down below saw us and yelled up asking if we needed her to call 911! Unable to think about anything but water and the amazing In-N-Out burgers waiting for us at the bottom, we pressed on. A couple falls and HEAPS of dirt in our shoes later, we finally made it to the bottom!!! WOO! AND to top it all off, we found the bat cave!!! Our legs feeling like jelly, we made it to the car at 7:45 - just as the sun was starting to set. What a crazy afternoon! We went straight to In-N-Out afterwards and had the best burgers of our lives!

-- Luce --
My table read was so much fun! I'm so excited to actually be filming something and to be a part of the cast in the webseries!! Yay! It's called 'Bored of Education' and it's a comedy about three teachers in a pretty derro public school and the shenanigans they get up to! My character is a cute ditsy teen that kind of flirts with one of the guys and it's a small but funny role! I was laughing out loud during the read through of the episodes so I'm sure on film it'll be absolutely hilarious!! I really can't wait to get started filming because everyone involved seems so nice - hooray!

On Thursday Han was working on Mistresses - on the final episode! - and Luce went out to Disneyland with Mum and the neighbors!

-- Han --
My day on set was really great! We were filming a bar scene in the last episode, so everyone was dressed up and looking great! It was the perfect excuse to wear my gold cocktail dress from prom a couple years ago!
The highlights of the day were:
1) meeting one of the lead actors, Brett, who's an Aussie and SO nice!
2) being paired for a couple scenes with this adorable old man - they were obviously going for some kind of sugar daddy situation, hilarious. Anyway, he was so sweet and seemed pretty happy to have me on his arm! We were pantomime-chatting and between takes he told me he was being "sultry" haha he also suggested that because we'd been seen in the background together we'd better stay together for continuity - too funny.
3) hanging out with a really cute/funny aspiring actor named Randy - who we ended up going out with on Saturday night!

-- Luce --
Disney was SO FUN! I had been feeling somewhat melancholy that morning so it was the perfect way to get a dose of happiness and to just escape the hustle and bustle of LA for a few hours. I also got to meet Mum and Q's neighbors who were absolutely lovely! Such a joy to be around. It was a great day and after a few rides and some yummy food it was time to face the traffic and head home.

Now on to the fun weekend! On Friday we went out to lunch with Wendy and Niell, Sav's parents and our lovely family friends, who're visiting from Massachusetts for a few days! It was really lovely seeing them and catching up, it's been so long! We're sure they're having a wonderful time in Cali - with a little luck before long they might make the move out here too!
We went home for a little while after lunch before heading out to see Chambers' other play in the Hollywood Fringe Festival, My Dirty Little Secret. We went out for dessert beforehand to a suuuper yummy ice cream place called Milk and went a little overboard! Han got a blondie sundae and Luce had a chocolate fudge/cookie sundae, how fitting!
On the way back to the car we saw the most LA graffiti you could possibly imagine! Hahah
Then it was onto the show! It was hilarious and we ran into a couple people we know too!
It was nice to be able to support Chambers and Jake (our producer)  and we really enjoyed the show!

Yesterday Luce had yet another Saturday morning audition at the same place from the last couple weeks! That casting director must really like her to keep calling her back, rockin it!
After the audition we treated ourselves to a ($22, what?!) mani/pedi! It's been so long since we've had our nails done, so fun! The special occasion was..... A party we'd been invited to in the Hollywood Hills! So glamorous!! Apparently Forrest Whittaker was on the guest list (bit random but cool!) buuut if he was there we didn't see him... Nonetheless, we had a great time! We went with a guy Han met on set of Mistresses the other day and his friend and they were such nice guys! Super funny and a blast to be around, it was an awesome night!

This morning Han went out to Cactus, our new regular/favourite spot, and picked up breakfast burritos - and they were more amazing than ever before! This afternoon, Luce is filming her webseries!! Woo! SO exciting!!! And Han's going out to the movies with Dirk, the guy from the semi-disasterous-but-definitely-fun hike on Wednesday, to see the new X-Men film - lots going on!
As we're coming up on a year in LA, we're feeling more determined than ever to make things happen for ourselves and get a foot in the door! This week we've got a To Do list a mile long of things that'll help us get to where we want to be, it's gonna be a productive one, just wait!

Ups and Downs

Man, what an exhausting few days! Such an emotional roller coaster - high highs, low lows, and crazy in-betweens as well.

Friday was Friday the 13th, so we were pretty shocked when we made it through that day unscathed! We made the mistake of saying so out loud, though, and the universe threw us plenty of bad luck the next day to make up for it. Friday was a chill day though; Han was on the set of Major Crimes and had a super easy day of background work, and Luce had an audition for a webseries that went really, really well!

Saturday was our roller coaster day. Luce woke up early to go for a second audition (at 8:00am) at the same place she auditioned at last week! It was a fairly cruisey audition and seemed to go well, and luckily, with our packed schedule for the day, it was nice and quick!
When Luce got home we only had about 40 minutes before we had to head over to Chambers' for a last minute rehearsal! The rehearsal was great and we all left to head over to the Lounge for the show, pumped up and ready to go! The bummer was that between leaving Chambers' place and arriving at the Lounge Theatre, we got a $68 parking ticket and then got hit by another car!! What?!! Friday the 13th a day late, are you kidding me?!! We went into the theatre completely frazzled and frustrated, but turned things around and actually felt like the show was the best it's ever been! We left afterwards to head out to Mum and Q's for the afternoon because Brendan was visiting! We were only 5 minutes into the drive out to Corona, though, when we got a call to turn back around and come back to the Lounge. We don't want to write too much about it on the blog, but in short, just after the show, Sullivan found out that a close family member of hers had passed away. We spent the afternoon doing everything we could to comfort Sully and be there for her. Our hearts were breaking for her and we're hoping and praying that she's doing better now that she's in Michigan with her family.
We still managed to make it out to Mum and Q's much later that night and we got to catch up with Brendie for a little bit! So lovely! We also further abandoned the diet, true to style when we visit, and had a delicious (late) dinner. It was the longest day and we were so relieved to go to sleep and let go of the stress and sadness and excitement and worry and everything else that was going on.

Sunday came so soon! In the morning Mum made us waffles and we got to wish Qee a happy Father's Day in person, what a bonus!! We headed out pretty early to make it back in time for the show (with a quick stop for boba on the way). Our very last performance of GGGG was a total success, we're gonna miss all those clowns! It's been such a fun experience with so many truly incredible and talented people, we were so lucky to be involved!
After the show we went through the car wash and finally got the Subi cleeeeaan! YAY! Then headed home for a few hours (with a stop at Ralph's. It took us about 20 minutes to decide on our last baked-goods masterpiece) before the FINAL GoT night!!!
We were greeted at the door by a helmet-and-cloak/blanket-clad Mike (the watcher on the wall), ready for the last episode of the season!!
We had dinner and waited for Eddie, who's watched all 3 and 9/10 seasons of the show in two weeks to catch up for the finale!!!
When Eddie arrived we brought out our (Lucy's) masterpiece of a cake!
The pic doesn't even come CLOSE to doing it justice!! It's French Vanilla cake dyed purple (in honor of the purple wedding that happened in episode 2 of the season) with raspberry and vanilla icing in the middle and golden sprinkles on top! Amazing!!
The episode itself was SO satisfying, WOW! It was action packed and easily one of the most epic episodes of the entire show, we were blown away! It was the perfect end to our GoT night tradition, we're going to miss the show so much! Already going through withdrawal...!

Today was the ultimate rest and recovery day and it was absolutely perfect. We slept in, did some cleaning, finished Orange is the New Black, started sorting out the car dramas, and Luce cooked up an amazing dinner. It was exactly what we needed after our crazy busy weekend!

Cruisin' for a Burnin'

These last few days have been so, so cruisey. We've gone to the park, walked to Ralph's, gotten boba, become absolutely hooked of House of Cards, Han's cleaned the apartment and worked out, and Luce has cooked/baked some delicious food! Also, Luce's come down with a pretty bad cold so we figured that was a sign to go easy on ourselves! We haven't entirely known what to do with all this down-time but it's been a really lovely break - especially because the next few weeks are going to be extremely busy (in the most fun way possible, so no complaints!). We've run some errands too and worked on various lines and ideas for scenes and plays going on. We also submitted ourselves today for an audition so we'll see if we get asked in! The coolest piece of news is that, we found out yesterday, we're officially going to be performing in the HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL in June!!! Ahhh SO EXCITING!!!!! We're sure the time until then will fly by too!
The other highlights of the week have been:
1) A wonderful girls' night on Tuesday with Sullivan! She came over and we chatted, ate cookies, and watched an adorable chick flick :)
2) Yesterday the weather was AMAZING so we went to the beach!
We laid out, read our books, and dipped our toes in the freezing cold ocean! On the way back, we opted for the scenic route and it was such a stunning drive! Winding through mountains and cute little shops and homes, so sweet! And the view was incredible!!
When we got home, though, we realized that - true Hannah and Lucy style - we'd both been fried to a crisp at the beach!!!
Hahahah it was pretty freakin hilarious, we couldn't believe it! Classic. We're doing better today though and now we've just got a head start on that LA tan!
Today's shaping up to be another quiet, errands day. We're planning on going to see the LACC one act plays tonight, which should be a blast! We've been called in to help out at Chambers' bootcamp tomorrow, so we're finishing the week strong and we'll be all rested up and ready to go for this jam-packed month ahead!
