It's been a busy week!! Fam, friends, acting, and work - what more could we ask for?!
Starting back with Wednesday, Han worked on the show Mistresses and Luce had a chill but productive day at home.

After a anxiety-inducing drive to set that took an HOUR and 45 minutes instead of the 35 minutes I was expecting, I made it to set with less than 10 minutes to spare! Phewww!! The rest of the day was pretty laid back: I met some cool people (including a really beautiful Aussie chick), played a patron in a restaurant/coffee shop, ate a lot of food, and did my best to charm a few crew members. We wrapped pretty late, right around 7:00, which meant more traffic to deal with but at least I wasn't nervous I'd be late! When I got home, Luce had made us a delicious spinach and goat's cheese omelet for dinner, yum!

My Wednesday was pretty uneventful..! I had a relaxing morning and then in the afternoon I signed up with ShowFax (a service that you pay a flat rate for so you don't have to pay for each online submission to casting directors to try to get auditions) and then I started sifting through breakdown after breakdown, trying to find auditions to submit myself for! Pretty fun stuff but it also took a really long time. Eventually Han got home and we hung out and chatted for a bit and then it was off to bed for an early night because we were doing background bright and early the next morning!
On Thursday we'd both been booked on Glee!! It was sooo nice being booked together and the day was really quite fun and stress-free. It was a HUGE call, probably about 250 extras, buuut we probably shouldn't specify where! Han was chosen for a little bit that seemed like it'd be pretty featured - but it turned out it didn't even make it in the shot haha - which was to walk down the escalator ahead of two of the cast members. The tricky part was she had to start in the same spot each time when the scene started, which meant walking backwards up the escalator while they took their time to say action! It was a good work out though and it was kinda fun to be the center of attention for a few seconds. We got to see heaps of the cast members and, although we haven't watched the show for a while, it was awesome to see them in real life! We saw Darren Criss (who plays Blaine *swoon*), Lea Michelle (Rachel. She was gorgeous in real life and so tiny!), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Heather Morris (Brittany. Amaaazing dancer ohmygod), Kevin McHale (Artie), Amber Riley (Mercedes. Also tiny in real life, everyone's so much smaller than they seem on camera!), and Chord Overstreet (Sam. SO cute in person, wow!). It was so cool!! They were filming a music number and by the end of the day it was stuuuck in our heads to say the least! We felt pretty lucky to've been paid for such a cool day's work! It was a long day though and we were glad to go home when we were wrapped at 5:00. We watched Short Term 12 when we got home and it was such an incredible movie! The acting was amazing!! A very fun, tiring LA day.
We weren't booked for Friday which actually worked out perfectly because Samantha asked us to come into the bakery to work for a few hours. It was a busy lunch hour and Han was still feeling a liiiittle unsure of her coffee-making abilities, but we made it through okay with minimal mistakes on all accounts! After leaving work we headed to the shops to get a Mother's Day present for Mum because we were celebrating early this year as Mum and Q will be in Hawaii on the actual day, lucky them!! We did a goodie bag of Bronzed Aussie treats, Lush bath products (suuuuch a hippie store, wow! The sales woman quote of that experience was "and this bath bomb actually has real marigold petals inside" hahaha what?), and Godiva chocolates (where Han shamelessly asked for two samples), all in a special Disney cup! We felt great about the prezzie and couldn't wait to give it to mum the next day! We went home, had dinner, watched Don Jon, and went to bed.
Saturday was our early Mother's Day, yaayy!! We had such a lovely time and the day we'd planned went perfectly. Mum and Q picked us up at our place and we gave mum her prezzie (success! She loved it!) then we drove to Geoffrey's, a beautiful restaurant in Malibu, for brunch. We went past the Bachelor house on the way there which was fun and when we arrived at the restaurant we were totally blown away! The view was breathtaking, the service was great, and the food was amazing!! We all had baked Brie and crab cakes to start, then Luce and I had the best eggs Benedict's of our lives, Mum had a quiche, and Q had chicken piccata - soooo good! Ahh! That combined with the stunningly perfect weather and lovely conversation made for a perfect Mother's Day meal.
Next on the agenda, we took Mum and Q to El Matador beach - our regular spot - and went for a lovely walk along the sand.
We took the scenic route home through Topanga Canyon and stopped to grab drinks, then Mum and Q dropped us back at our place and headed home themselves, keen to rescue the doggies from the hot weather. It was a beautiful day and we were so glad we got to plan and celebrate it so fully! We had a dip in the hot tub at our apartment and went to bed pretty early because the next day was baker's hours for us! Up bright and early!!
The reason we were up so early was that Samantha was having us represent her to cater the Celebrity Ashes cricket match in LA!! We lucked out with that job assignment! After picking up the pies at the bakery in the good old Subi and grabbing a couple last-minute things from Smart & Final, we headed over to the cricket grounds in Van Nuys. It was a bit if a struggle to find the rendezvous point, but when we got there we were met by many smiling Aussies and Brits keen to get some pies! We set up - in the shade with a great view of the match, nice - and the pies started getting snapped up!
After several hours, many interactions with cute men (MoMA continues?), a great back and forth with the funny coffee guy Mark, and a couple celebrity sightings (Piers Morgan and Nigel Lythgoe, both of whom bought a pie!), we'd sold out and, with the Aussies sure to win, decided to head home. We truly couldn't believe we'd gotten paid for that. We probably would've gone to the event anyway! It was a funny sort of two-worlds-collide day, kind of like Anzac Day, where we were in the middle of LA but might as well have been back in Aus!
We were only at home for a couple hours until it was time to go to our GoT night with Nick, Mike, and Eddie. It was heaps of fun as always and Nick made another delicious dinner for us to go along with Luce's yummy cookies! The episode didn't disappoint either, such a great show!! Made even better by watching it with awesome people.
On Monday Han had been invited to play beach volleyball with Andrew (who she went on a hike with last week) and his friends. Han, surprisingly, didn't embarrass herself at all! There was a great group of people there and it felt great to be outdoors and active, really fun! When Han got back we went straight to Bronzed Aussie for coffee training with cute Aussie Sam. It was great! We're feeling confident on the coffee machine and it was really chill working with just us and Sam there. Nice one :)
Yesterday Luce had an audition!! SO exciting!!! And Han was working on the show Awkward as a high school student, too real..!

My day was fantastic! My audition submissions of last week started to pay off and I was chosen to audition for a Ford commercial! Woohoo! The audition was at 11:50 so I got there extra early and it was lucky I did because when I got there the line to sign-up was almost out the door!! Ah! So I got in line and then, luckily for me, a woman was going around and moving girls who were over 18 to the front of the line! Yay! So I signed in and was put with a group of two guys to read with. The guys were really nice and we hit it off immediately! We all got super fired up and were in the audition room in what felt like minutes, even though we had been waiting for a good half hour..! When I got in, it turned out that I wasn't reading for the teenage role like I thought, I was actually reading for the mid-twenties role! Gahhh! Luckily there weren't too many lines to memorize on the spot and I took it all in stride. It was a quick scene and after doing it a couple times that was it! Just like that the audition was over and I left feeling great about my performance.
I headed home and after chilling out for a little bit I got a Facebook message from a Casting Director in LA asking me to audition for a reality TV show in Australia..! Ha! It's called "Beauty and the Geek" and on the show 7 hot girls are paired with 7 nerdy guys and they bond and compete for a huge cash prize at the end..! So bizarre! So I responded and she asked me to come in for an audition on Friday! Wooo! And even better - I asked if she'd like to do some sort of cute-twins thing so that Han and I could audition together and she seemed super excited about that idea! So so funny..! Han and I are still trying to weigh the pros and cons of pretending to be American airheads on national TV in Australia but it could be fun! The audition on Friday should make for a great story regardless :)

It was sooo strange being on a set as a high school student! Everyone seemed so young and at one point we had to look like we were stressed about taking an exam, too real! Haha despite that, it was a fun day. I wasn't called until 10:00 and the stages were only 15 minutes away. It ended up being over a 12 hour shoot though, woah! But the crew was really chill and I made some friends, so no complaints! They also had a daaangerously yummy selection of cookies and chips for us to snack on. I held out for as long as I could, but when 9:30 hit it was all over haha ahh well! No regrets! I also chatted with two of the main guys which was kinda cool and sat right in front of the lead girls in the classroom scene, so hopefully I made it into the shot!
Today we both had a well deserved sleep in and veeeery lazy morning! We're called on the same night call (a shoot that starts in the afternoon and goes through until morning!) tonight, so we're resting up and saving our energy for later. We're stoked to've both been booked on it, should be a fun night!!
